Connect your DHL Express agreement
Here you get access from DHL and add your keys to fragtr. DHL has to approve you first – this usually takes a few days.
What you need
✅ A DHL Express customer account (a 9-digit account number, e.g. 951234567)
✅ An email address where DHL can contact you
✅ A little patience – DHL usually replies within a few days
Where do I find the account number? It's on your DHL invoice. Otherwise your DHL sales rep can tell you.
Part 1 – Request access from DHL (first time only)
1Go to
developer.dhl.com and click
Sign up. Create a free user and confirm your email.
2Search for "MyDHL API" (under DHL Express) and open it.
3Click Get Access and fill in the form. Enter your DHL account number and state that you will use the API for "rates, shipments and tracking".
4Wait for DHL to reply. You will receive an API username and an API password by email.
Important: The API username and password are not the same as your MyDHL+ login on dhl.com. They are special credentials that DHL sends you.
Taking too long? Call your DHL sales rep and say: "We'd like access to the MyDHL API for our account."
Part 2 – Add the keys to fragtr
1Log in to
fragtr.dk and go to
Backend in the menu on the left.
2Click + Connect carrier and choose DHL.
3Enter the API username, API password and your DHL account number.
4Choose Pickup: if you have a scheduled daily pickup with DHL, select it. Otherwise fragtr automatically books a pickup every time you book a shipment.
5Click Connect DHL. We test the keys with DHL right away.
Done! 🎉 Run a price check. The DHL prices are now marked "Own agreement" – these are your own DHL prices.
If it doesn't work
| Error message | What to do |

| "DHL rejected the username or password" | Use the credentials from DHL's email – not your MyDHL+ login. Watch out for spaces. |
| "The DHL account number only contains digits" | Enter the digits only, without spaces or letters. |
| An error about the account or "account" | The account number doesn't match your API access. Ask DHL whether the access is linked to the correct account number. |
| It works in test, but not for real | DHL sometimes grants test access only at first. Ask DHL to enable production. |
Good to know
- Customs: If you ship outside the EU (e.g. Norway or the UK), remember the contents and goods value. If you choose paperless, the commercial invoice is sent electronically to DHL.
- Label: The label is ready in fragtr straight away as a PDF.
- Cancellation: If you cancel in fragtr, the pickup is also cancelled with DHL. DHL only charges for parcels they have collected.
- Invoice: DHL invoices you directly, as usual.
